This body of work focuses on young people who originally not native to Cape Cod have chosen to remain there despite the challenges of housing insecurity, limited employment opportunities, and the social isolation that often accompanies the winter season. In this series, nature becomes both a refuge and a protagonist. Photographer creates a surreal relationship between people and the landscape, imagining nature as the force that literally holds young people on Cape Cod. The project draws inspiration from the magical realism of writer Julio Cortázar, whose work often blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination. Some of the individuals portrayed in the project have since chosen to leave Cape Cod for personal reasons.
